The UN is almost always portrayed in a positive manner by the media, an organization of good intentions, trying to achieve something of note. When it comes to conservation however, UNESCO heritage sites prevent these places from belonging to the people who actually live there, and have a relationship with place.
The UN proved long ago with Maurice Strong and Agenda 21 that it is the enemy of organic grass roots conservation policy, the enemy of local community, the enemy of actual preservation.
